Description of “TASTE OF HONEY”

SOLD – by Turner Center for the Arts, Valdosta, GA Oct, 2022 during the FLAG  “Jurors Top Twenty-Five” exhibition.

“TASTE OF HONEY” is part of a series “Sounds of the Sixties” prepared for a solo show at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts, Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Petersburg, FL  Nov. 2019 – Feb. 2020.  It is a large abstract 60″x48″.  I listened to “Taste of Honey” frequently while painting this imagining the golden honey, the web of honeycombs and the frenetic buzzing of the bees.

It was recently juried into “UNCHARTED”, a national juried open call, at Art Center – Sarasota and will be on exhibit there until April 17, 2020. Of 270 entries, it was awarded “First Place” by Juror Tom Stephens.

FLAG, the Florida Artist Group has been honored with an exhibition this Fall in Valdosta, GA. It will feature the top twenty-five paintings (and this is one of the 25) selected by the Juror of the 2022 FLAG Symposium. More details to follow.  (S10xx)
